Hire Up is a job training program that is offered at no charge to Middle School (8th grade) and High School teens, as well as adults. It prepares them to succeed in their search for a job. For some, it means their first job and others that participate, want to learn how they can try to get a better job. The training sessions are on 2 days, held on consecutive Saturdays from 9 am. – 4 pm. Breakfast and Lunch, on both days, are provided. The class covers topics like, “Dressing for Success”, “Presenting Yourself as a Winner”, and “What do the Questions on the Application really mean?”. These are just a few of the topics that are covered.
People from area Businesses come for one of the sessions and lead mock job interviews so that the Participants can put what they learn right into practice. The Hire Up Trainers are experienced, professional trainers that take time learn the needs of the class, and provide specialized training to meet the needs of the participants.
